This is my second try at this. I hit control z and everything disappeared. Thanks, WordPress. Maybe I should go back to writing in Word and copying it here. It’s good thing the poem was short, and I think I remembered it exactly.
Cubby recently reupped her Triolet Challenge from before I even had a blog. Here’s her reup. Both are excellent.
At first, I had nothing. My muse insisted that, “I’m on a coffee break.” Then, I wrote two at once. Apparently, my muse was refreshed and fully caffeinated. You can read the other one here.
Toybox
My ribcage is not your toybox
Someday you’ll realize my value
Can’t kick me around like loose rocks
My ribcage is not your toybox
Walk all over me like old socks
I’m living my life without you
My ribcage is not your toybox
Someday you’ll realize my value
I find this to be quite an empowering triolet. You did a great job of building up the theme in the three non-repeating lines. 🙂

Thank you. It’s definitely a different direction for me, which is a good thing. I need more variety in my poetic repertoire.
