Friday Fictioneers is hosted by Rochelle Wisoff-Fields who provides us with a photo prompt. Each week’s challenge is to write a 100-word story inspired by the photo, which Rochelle provided herself this week. Outsourcing be damned!
No Explanation Necessary?
“Hey, Ronnie. Hell of a job on those lights. All nighter, huh?”
“Thanks. Yeah, I wanted to take my time.”
“You don’t need to explain. You did a great job.”
~~~~~
“Sorry I’m late. I was…”
“Hey, Ronnie, no need to explain, bud. We know you were working on those lights all night. They look amazing.”
~~~~~
“Hey!”
“Don’t ‘Hey!’ me. Where the hell have you been?”
“I was working on those lights all night. I had a meeting this morning.”
“Yeah, well who’s this bitch posting on your Instagram? ‘Thanks for a great night, Ronnie!'”
“Uh…”
“Better start explaining.”
Busted Ronnie. Social media is a dangerous thing!

It can be in the wrong hands.

Or, for this of us who are naïve, it could be his assistant. Maybe. You’re probably right.

I expect he claimed overtime as well? Social media has a way of catching us all out, one way or another.

People often tend to snitch on themselves via social media, usually inadvertently.

Oh dear! Get out of that one if you can!
Here’s my story!.

If he is guilty of what’s been alluded to, I don’t think he deserves to get away with it.

Dear Nobbin,
Social media…a blessing and a curse. You got some ‘splainin’ to do, Ronnie. Nicely written.

Thank you, Rochelle. It started as a joke on myself after all the comments last week that I need not explain so much.

I expect there is only so much Ronnie can take. Don’t bother packing. . .

I take I you don’t have much faith in his explanation.

It’s the universal question: why?

Ronnie’s got some ‘splainin’ to do.

I don’t think any amount if ‘splainin’s going to get him out of this one.

Social media will catch you eventually. So many people are so stupid!

Yeah, social media is like voluntary Big Brother.

And not so voluntary when you find out your stuff has been shared…

We share enough voluntarily. Those security breaches share the shit people are actually smart enough to not share.

Oops! Well, now he must explain. Glad for social media … I enjoyed the three perspectives of your story. Nicely done!!

Yep. The question is, does he have a valid explanation? Or was he being a bad boy?

One thing is certain that Ronnie is late. Reason for his tardiness is open to interpretation.

True. The job could have been tough, and the message could have been from his assistant. Or he could have been engaging in extracurricular activities.

Alas the alibi wasn’t all that great.

At least, the evidence to the contrary was stronger.

Haha… Ronnie was certainly busy one way or another! 😀

Yes, he was. Now, he’s going to be more busy trying to explain.
