Friday Fictioneers: On & On & On & On

Friday Fictioneers is hosted by Rochelle Wisoff-Fields who provides us with a photo prompt. Each week’s challenge is to write a 100-word story inspired by the photo. Click here to play along or just read more stories.

Shameless Self-Promotion Warning: I uploaded a new video for an old story today. It took me eight months to create, ten years after I wrote it, and five years after I originally posted it, but it will only take 17 minutes to enjoy if anyone has extra time to kill. The Captive (or The Cell) (Redux)

On & On & On & On

“Welcome home.”

“What are you doing up?”

“Waiting for you.”

“Are you smoking?”

“I have to do something to pass the time. You smell like wine and cheap perfume.”

“I was at Larry’s.”

“Larry’s closed at 2. It’s 5.”

“I took the long way home.”

“Is this your home? Do you spend enough time here to call it home?”

“Maybe if the reception were warmer, I’d come home more.”

“Maybe if you came home more, you wouldn’t be welcomed like a thief creeping in in the night.”

“I don’t need this shit.”

“Mommy, where did Daddy go?”

    1. If he were a real prince, he could just have her beheaded. Or is it only kings who can do that? I’m not completely sure how the monarchy works. The kids always get the worst of it and are usually the forgotten victims.
